Dr. Rafael Pagés is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin. He received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (integrated B.Sc. and M.Sc. accredited by ABET) and the Doctor Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (Ph.D. in
Communications) from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 2010 and 2016, respectively. Since 2016, he has been member of V-SENSE group at Trinity College Dublin. His research interests include 3D reconstruction, free-viewpoint video, VR/AR, computer vision, and image processing.

About Rafael Pagés

Dr. Rafael Pagés is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin within the V-SENSE project, where his main research fields are 3D reconstruction and Free-Viewpoint Video. Before joining TCD, he worked as a scientific researcher at the Image Processing Group (GTI) at Technical University of Madrid (UPM), where he did is PhD, focused on 3D humanoid reconstruction. His scientific interests include fields such as Computer Vision, Computer Graphics and Image Processing. During his years of research, Rafael participated in several European projects where he dealt, for instance, with reconstruction of realistic human 3D models using a setup of standard cameras surrounding the subject, depth sensors and also structured light projectors; as well as the 3D reconstruction of buildings using a set of unordered images taken from different perspectives.
