V-SENSE SAUCE at ELFI 2019!

Our V-SENSE SAUCE Project colleague Weston Aenchbacher attended the European Light Field Imaging Workshop (ELFI) located in Borovets, Bulgaria, 04 – 06 June 2019. He presented his paper titled Interactive Light Field Tilt-Shift Refocus with Generalized Shift-and-Sum co-authored with Martin Alain and Aljosa Smolic.

The first European Light Field Imaging Workshop (ELFI 2019) took place from 4-6 June, 2019 in Hotel Yastrebets, Borovets, Bulgaria. The workshop took place a week after the workshop on Computational Imaging with Novel Image Modalities (Light fields, Omni-directional Images, Digital Holograms) held on 27-28 May, 2019 in INRIA, Rennes, France.

The workshop covered a wide range of disciplines: multidimensional signal processing, visual computing, visual neuroscience, optics and physics. The workshop consisted of invited talks, regular and poster sessions. The workshop organizers established a creative atmosphere for discussions between students and professionals from the Academia and industry. ELFI 2019 was organized by the Centre for Immersive Visual Technologies, Tampere University, Finland, and sponsored by the European Training Network on Full Parallax Imaging. This was the last training event of ETN-FPI and the first edition of a series of workshops, the ETN-FPI partners aim at establishing. With the continuing support from projects, institutions and companies working in the area of light field imaging, ELFI is looking forward to establish itself as a leading European scientific event.

‘Smart Assets for re-Use in Creative Environments’

SAUCE is a three-year EU Research and Innovation project between 9 companies and research institutions to create a step-change in allowing creative industry companies to re-use existing digital assets for future productions.

The goal of SAUCE is to produce, pilot and demonstrate a set of professional tools and techniques that reduce the costs for the production of enhanced digital content for the creative industries by increasing the potential for re-purposing and re-use of content as well as providing significantly improved technologies for digital content production and management.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement No 780470.
